Our traditional farmhouse is situated on the plateau of the Haut Lignon, in the department of the Haute Loire in the heart of the south of Auvergne, at more than 1000 meters of altitude. We are open all year. "La Ferme de Madelonnet" is located in a small hamlet in the open country. We have a splendid view on the Peak of the Lizieux (1388m), an old volcano.
For those who love the countryside and nature it is an ideal place to be for every season of the year!
You will find activities throughout the seasons, there are very nice mountain bike routes or on foot from our farm. Each season has its charm.
Only a few kilometers from Mazet St Voy, St Jeures, Tence and Chambon sur Lignon.
Saint Jeures is on the GR 65 road to Compostela of Geneva at Puy en Velay; The Ferme de Madelonnet being a few kilometers from the center, we invite pilgrims to pick them up at Saint Jeures or Tence by car. We apply preferential rates for pilgrims, for the night and the evening meal.
Married since 1991 we have lived in different regions in France.
In 2008 we decided to return to live on the "Plateau" where Laurent has his origins. Eline from the Netherlands, also loves the great outdoors in this sunny region. She speaks English, Dutch and a little German.
In 2009 the adventure began, we bought an old farm and after three years of renovation, we opened our guest rooms in 2012.
The whole family ; our three children, our parents and our brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces, not forgetting our friends, helped us to realize this beautiful project. A photo album traces this beautiful story: if you come to visit us, you can consult it on site.
A big thank you to everyone who helped us!
